Hey everyone, just real quick---I bought a new maxed-out black macbook with 250 G HD and what, like 2.2 GHz on like Feb 22nd. Apple will let me return it and get the latest revision that came out on the 26th....but it puts me out a computer for a week and I'm not sure the 200 MHz speed bump and extra gig of RAM is worth it? Plus I just heard the processor is actually not as fat as apple'd have you believe since the L2 Cache was lowered from 2M to 1M on this new chip. Thoughts?

It's weird to think that I'm not totally convinced I need the latest "update" to the line---the whole update was so underwhelming...

thanks for your thoughts...

There is a 3MB cache on the new model vs. 4MB on the model you have now. The performance really wont be much different, although I wouldn't turn down more horse power and RAM if they are giving it to me for nothing. You might as well keep what you have, unless battery life is important. The new CPU's can give you 10-17% longer battery life.

I'd do it, for the extra gig of RAM, if nothing else.
