I'm looking for a radio alarm clock and thought I may as well go all out and get one with an iPod connector as I don't have a set of speakers yet.

My requirements are:
< £100 / $200 (though if something is worth looking at for a little more I'll certainly consider it)
iPhone compatible (and can anyone tell me why a lot of speakers require the iPhone to be in flight mode?)
AM/FM radio (DAB would be nice but not a dealbreaker)
Choice of alarm source (iPod / radio / normal alarm)
Decent sound. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I'd be ecstatic if it sounded something like the old G4 Cube ball speakers which I thought were pretty good, and I will be listening to mp3s after all.
Preferably a remote control (again not a deal breaker)

I've had a look at a few, but nothing has really jumped out, so was wondering if anyone has any experience or recommendations.

A couple I have considered:
Gear4 BlackBox 24/7 (http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorldSite/product/iPhone_Speakers/PG306/Gear4_BlackBox_24/7_iPod_Speaker_System.htm) - Looks good, not much of an idea about how it sounds but it probably is top of my list at the minute.

JBL On Time (http://shop.ipodworld.co.uk/iPodWorldSite/product/iPhone_Speakers/JBL-ONTIME/JBL_On_Time_iPod_Speaker_Dock_with_Alarm_Clock_+_R adio.htm) - Looks cool, apparently decent sound, but rather expensive and no remote.

Any advice much appreciated.

I like the iHome (http://www.ihomeaudio.com/ihomedept.asp) products. My friend has this one (http://www.ihomeaudio.com/products.asp?product_id=10015), and I have this guy (http://www.ihomeaudio.com/products.asp?product_id=10137&dept_id=1006). Unfortunately I lost the power cord, and apparently if it's running off batteries then it doesn't have enough juice to actually play the iPod... But, the simple solution is not to lose your power cord!

Ever hold a cell phone near a speaker during the phone's data transmission? If not you should try it. The speakers pickup the data and play it for you.

I had a quick look at some of the iHome variants, but wasnt too sure how they sounded. This one (http://www.ihomeaudio.com/products.asp?product_id=10246&dept_id=1006) looks very interesting though, and seems to overcome the iPhone interference problem (which makes total sense, thanks turtle2472)
