Pretty good news. It sure took a lot of people bitching to make it finally happen, though.

See here (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program/?nda).

Craig Hockenberry, the guy who created Twitterriffic, evidently has been sitting on some source code for awhile now and is releasing it.

If you've got the iPhone developer kit I guess you should check it out and tell us laymen what all the hype is about.

I'm at work (aka PC Land, aka Windows World), so I can't see what that's all about right now. I'll check it out tonight.

Excellent! It's about time Apple got their head out of their butt about this.

Sounds like the NDA is still in place for unreleased software, so rejection notices presumably would still be under wraps (since the software could still be classified as unreleased).

I believe "unreleased software" refers to (the APIs of) unreleased versions of iPhone OS, i.e. currently the 2.2 betas.

I think we'll need to see the new NDAs, before we'll know if rejection letters will still be covered. Those letters aren't "software", released or otherwise.

I believe that's correct, yes. As for the rejection letters, you should read this:
