I'm looking to replace an HP deskjet 6940 with an all-in-one. However, I'd like to be able to not only print over the network to it, but also scan over the network. There arent any models on HP's website that specifically state that capability, and neither on best buy's website.

Does anyone have any personal experiences or recommendations on on which brands/models are fully Mac compatible and allow for printing/scanning over the network. Fax isnt a necessary function at all.

thanks!

Canon MX860 is a great option with wonderful Mac software. I currently use the MX850 but it have recently been replaced with the MX860.

After leaving HP software you'll wonder why you didn't change sooner. Not to mention the print quality is just plain awesome!

And that software definitely allows for scanning over the network?

I do it all the time. You have full control over the machine via WiFi to the network or (in my case) ethernet cable connection. It also plays well with a mixed network like mine (PCs and Macs).
