I realize that, after moving routers around for better coverage in the house, I have no backup solution for my MacBook anymore. Prior to moving things around I had an AirPort Disk set up to remote back up but the transfer speed was a little less than preferable. Is the Dual-Band Time Capsule a good option on mixed networks? Does the network speeds dramatically increase for N-based devices? Basically, is it worth the $300?

Actually if you want to backup wireless. Time Capsule is your only option. We had a discussion about it here (http://applenova.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32085&highlight=router).

There's something preventing your backup from being corrupted (Like if you loose your network or your computer shut down)

Well, I bought one last night. I went ahead and got the 500GB version since I'll be hooking up two (maybe three) 1TB drives to it anyway. I'll take my existing Airport Express and try to get it to extend the network to the back section of the house. It's not dual band though.

I haven't installed it an got it running yet, I'll do that in the near future though. :D

Will the USB drives you add work normally with TM?

As a personal testimonial I can tell you it works and it works well. All my external TM drives are connected through a hub to the single USB port and all are being used as the TM drive for different machines. It works perfectly! 3 1TB drives and the internal 500GB drive working flawlessly.

I have my old AirPort Express connected to extend the network and this brings up a question: Since the Express connects to the 5GHz TC Airport adapter does that mean it slows my network down when my wife's iPhone connects to it in the bedroom?

One thing I love about the dual-band operation is it requires no thought or action on the user's part. I was expecting to have to make some settings or changes but I don't. It just works. There is only one SSID too. Color me impressed. Well worth the $280 I paid for it. I get two devices knocked down to one. Now what to do with my G4 Mini? :\

Searching for the linked thread, I realised that my link isn't correct. Here's the good link. (http://applenova.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32092). It's just a little bit late :D
