I am also thinking about buying a Iphone. Not really in a hurry. Would you w8 for the new one or go for the 3gs?

Up to you... we're kinda heading towards halfway between the two models. So if you can wait, you'll get a much better phone. On the other hand, if you get a 3GS now and take good care of it, the resale value should be reasonable if you choose to upgrade in 7-8 months time.

You should probably also consider the network. There is a chance that next years iPhone will be available on more carriers than just AT&T (if you are in the US). So if AT&T really doesn't work for you, you may like to wait and see what happens here (could be that nothing changes).

I live in Europe so this should not be a problem. I will be buying an unlocked phone.

iPhone releases thus far have always taken place in June, so if it continues down that road, we're not even halfway there.

What do you mean when you say not even half way there?

June is more than half a year away.

yeah, but if I would buy one now, how much would the price drop in about 6 months?

What, nobody's jumped all over him for saying "Iphone" yet?!

WTF is wrong with people today?!

What would it be then?

Just in case you're being serious...

Lowercase 'i', uppercase 'P'.

ok, so what would people do, save money and w8 for the 4 generation or buy the 3gs?

Buy the 3GS. Also, stop using wa8. Wait is not that much harder to type.

hehe, sorry, just a habit from msn messaging. You have a 3gs? How do you like it? Is it much faster than the 3g?

Me personally, I would wait for the new upgrade. It just depends on if you really need a new phone upgrade now or not.

Yeah, it depends in your phone situation. Also what features you need/want, &c. It's hard for us to answer this for you, besides...buy what you need when you need it. Otherwise, wait if you can.

I bought an iPhone 3G in late April. Obviously the 3G S was only about two months away, but I couldn't wait - I needed a phone (yes, needed, not "needed" :p). So I bought the 3G. No regrets.

Is it faster? Yes. Can you tell? If you're upgrading, then you can tell. If you use a 3G with out ever using a 3GS, then how would you know?

Yeah. I think I will just go with the 3gs. Life is to short to say no to fun
