Hi guys,

I need a voice recorder for class. We have 2 hour lectures, sometimes they go over to the 2.5-3 hour range so it needs to be able to make it through that, at least. I'd like to be able to sync the recordings onto my MBP, and make sure the files are cross compatible to my iPod and Windows. I've tried recording with my iPhone 4; just using the voice memo app but this is less than ideal, it does not pick up very well. Quality isn't an issue, I just want to be able to hear the speaker. I'm open to all brands and solutions. Cost is important, I'd like to get the best value for the money ...

I saw this (http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=20552) thread but it is from 2006 and I didn't want to necrobump it. Mod, feel free to fold me into tori's thread if you feel that would be best.

Edit: Similar threads shows a couple more threads that I'll look over as well. I don't know if the digital voice recorder business sees high model turn-over...

Add this (http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Recording-Microphone-Speaker/dp/B001FBL2SW) to your iPhone or iPod. It should help the recording performance.

Bump...

I'm still looking for a good OS X compatible digital voice recorder. Many of the brands say they're "Mac compatible" but I'd like to hear about some of your experiences. Anyone still using a digital voice recorder?

Fuck yes, the LS-11 kicks ass. It's one of my favorite things that I own!

Indeed: I just rented one of these for a lecture recording at work, and it was superb. Much better audio quality than a $250 device would be expected to have.
