A friend of mine is moving out of state, and he's decided he doesn't want to take his PPC Mac mini with him, so he's giving it to me. It has a dead hard drive, so it doesn't boot. Assuming that's the only problem with it, I want to replace the drive and use it for a media center computer. Of course, that means I need a TV tuner for it.

I'd like to keep it under $100 if possible, but I want one that supports OTA HD. I'd also like it to include software to schedule recordings. Are there any tuners out there for PPC Macs that would fit that description? I haven't shopped for a tuner for years, so I guess I don't really know what to look for.

Bueller? Bueller?

I have the machine. I had to place the hard drive and I even opened the super drive once, but Leopard is installing now. It's the first-gen 1.42 GHz G4, with 512 MB RAM and (now) a 40 GB hard drive. I'll need more storage, but I'm pretty excited about the machine overall.

So... Any recommendations at all on TV tuners?

I don't have one currently but I've previously had the HD Homerun with a PPC mini and it worked great. The EyeTV software was pretty good. I don't remember why we got rid of it but I think it was just too complicated for my wife switching between inputs for this and that thing. It may be out of your $100 price range, though.
