I have two independent Apple stores in my town. One has a better price on the laptop I want than the other. If I buy from one and it goes out of business is the other one obligated to service my machine under Apple Care? I know that they can always be crappy about it.

In your experience is this a legitmate concern?

Assuming they're both Apple Authorized Service Providers(!), they can be crappy all they want; they'll still both have to service you.

Apple makes the call whether something gets repaired; they don't.
