I don't understand any of what I'm about to explain.....
My 11 year old son has been playing Team Fortress 2 via something called Steam on the Crossover Games app on our iMac running 10.7.3.
He's been playing it successfully for a bit and now all the sudden when he opens it crashes and gives this message:

Failed to lock index buffer in CMeshDX8::LockIndexBuffer

we've rebooted, uninstalled Steam and TF2 all to no success, he wrote to TF2 people band they can't seem to grasp he's running on an iMac and keep trying to get him to do something involving .exe files. He thinks I can help him and I'm cluless any ideas?

Thanks

Why would he play it through CrossOver? Steam is available for the Mac, and he doesn't have to re-purchase TF2 either.

I agree. It seems like you should take that part out of the equation. Post an update if you make any progress...?

The Steam people are probably telling him about .exe's because Crossover is a windows emulator.

I'm not a huge gamer, so I can't really help much more than that.

Even if it asks him to re-purchase TF2 that shouldn't be a problem, it's free to play.

Thanks, I think he was using crossover games for different various games, found Team Fortress there and it required steam yada yada....
he's very happy now and so am I as I don't have to decipher something I've no clue about.....
thanks
