Great work on this site! Kudos to all involved.
I've always liked the AI look because it was quick loading and elegent at the same time. The gray color scheme is wonderful; not only easy on the eyes, but quite browseable while at work. ;)
Here is a suggestion I've tried to justify on design principle rather than personal taste.
Currently, the black border around different gray regions in the page is quite heavy. Visually, it is so distinct that it out weighs most the page content. Rather than providing a subtle visual cue, it becomes a focal point. Just one or two pixels wide would suffice instead of five or six.
Can we try a skinnier border?
