I'm looking for something I can mount to the back of a TV that is on it's own stand. So use the VESA mount holes to mount a small shelf for stuff like a Mac Mini (Original 1.25 G4 (http://support.apple.com/kb/SP65)), AppleTV, extra remotes etc. I'm trying to use Google on this one but I keep getting results to mount the TV to something rather than something to the TV.

Anyone see something like this?

This (http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/esupply/item/mr-vesa3/) is the closest I could find to what you describe, but it's not available for overseas shipping. :\ A reverse image search didn't turn up anything stateside either.

Seems like there should be something out there. A VESA shelf would be a handy add on.

Yeah, the one 709 posted is more of what I'm after. In this case it's for a 40" TV and 300 x 300 mm VESA. The goal of this one is to hide everything behind the TV unlike that stand that puts it on top. At least you found something though.

I wonder how hard it would be to make/design something like this? I haven't been in metal shop since 8th grade.

So now I'm wondering how hard it would be to make something that was lightweight and sturdy. Without a shop like the Mythbusters have that is.

Seems like there would be an easy-enough way to marry one of those standardized mounting plates to some shelving via "L" brackets and a bit of Home Depot hardware. Rolling your own in these scenario - so you can make things as wide or deep as needed, make holes for cable, etc. - might be the way to go.

I've done this kind of stuff over the years, for those niche, one-off products/devices that either a) nobody seems to make, or b) some company on the opposite side of the planet makes it and wants $780 to ship. :D Any excuse to go to Home Depot or Ace and look for fasteners, boards, conduit, etc. to let me build what's in my head, I'm all for.

Yeah, I'll likely end up making it. I did it with my Playroom TV but it was mounted to the wall and not the TV. I still love that shelving set up I made. Works great. Guess I'll look into just building something. I was hoping for something in acrylic like this (http://store.apple.com/us/product/HE816LL/A/h-squared-air-mount-for-airport-extreme-and-time-capsule).

I have one of these (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0057CVH6W/ref=pe_210150_29684950_email_1p_0_ti) for my AppleTV hooked up behind my mounted TV in my gym in my house. Works great and you never notice it's there. Would only work though if you use the Remote App and not the remote.

Thanks, that is in my wish list now while I look for other options. I need a Mac mini back there too.
