Anki Drive - any good?

Has anyone had any hands-on experience with this Anki Drive stuff? My 8 year old has expressed interest after seeing an ad on TV but I really don't know how well it all works/how fun it is for kids. It has come down in price considerably since initial launch. I think the starter kit used to be $199, but it is now $99. I don't know if the price dripe is becuase they have just scaled production or if demand is really low.

Sadly though, I only know of Anki Drive from a presentation at one of the keynotes.

We bit the bullet and ordered the Anki starter kit. I'll report back after Christmas with my impressions.
