can we get our old member status names??

i kinda dislike just being a "member"...just too phallic for me i guess...

i kinda miss being a "massive member"...not that it is any less phallic, but at least it swells my ego some....

*makes official*

Well, since we're all new here again, I suppose there's no sense in having the 1000-post minimum for custom titles. So that people won't all go willy-nilly and change their own titles all the time, though, I'll keep the same procedure we had at AI.com. You post your request here and one of the admins will instate it.

Cheers! :)

Well, since we're all new here again, I suppose there's no sense in having the 1000-post minimum for custom titles.Ha ha! My plan has worked.

1. Wait patiently in the old AI forums until there's an uprising.
2. When the new AI forums are inevitably created, switch over.
3. Score custom title without having (had) to post a thousand times (this is the labor-saving key to my scheme).
4. /* to do */
5. Profit.

Éscrimeur d'Élite

En garde! ;)

By the way, there's no accent in escrimeur. Unless you are intentionally misspelling it, of course, in the French tradition of humour in the second degree. :)

OMGF! Yikes! I can't believe I got it wrong! I even often browse some french fencing sites! I guess I assumed it did have an accent.

What a shame :o I have taken 8 years of french and actually plan on moving to france when I finish uni. Tireur d'élite btw, is an awesome word.

Thanks btw!

oh yeah, Brad, could you please change it to Escrimeur d'Élite please? thanks!

OMGF! Yikes! I can't believe I got it wrong! I even often browse some french fencing sites! I guess I assumed it did have an accent.

stevegong: The rule is easy (it's probably the only French language rule I know). If the syllable is closed, i.e. it ends in a consonant, there is no accent. So there shouldn't be an accent on es-cri-meur because the first syllable ends with the consonant "s." But there is an accent on é-li-te, because it's an open syllable, i.e. it ends with a vowel.

If you want to get even more technical, your're not supposed to write any kinds of accents on capital letters. But I've never worried about that.

Tireur d'élite btw, is an awesome word.

Presumably in the metaphorical sense, right?

I don't suppose you're packed and ready to go, are you? You're leaving tomorrow, I hope? You'd fall asleep at the wheel if you left today. And what would those kitties do without their daddy? Poor babies.

Main Entry: [3]deˇsert

Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English deserte, from Old French, from feminine of desert, past participle of deservir to deserve

I don't have a job yet, but I don't want to touch litigation with a ten foot pole. I just took the bar exam (yesterday and today!), and my jobsearch starts tomorrow morning. I know that beggars can't be choosers. But I will avoid litigation if at all possible.

Before I went to law school, I only did transactional work (securities and project finance). Now that I have my J.D. , I want to stick with transactional work: I like building things that last, not tearing stuff and people down.

I cannot in good conscience wait until my 1000th post to change my title. While I hope Bert and his buddy Steve come through OK, the truth is no one should use the word "reluctant" in their custom title. It's all wrong and I see that now.

Heheh.

[I had forgotten your disdain for this word....]

Wouldn't it be self-serving and arrogant if it just said "Reigns Supreme" under my name? People will think I've joined some sort of 12 step, Mark Cuban Emulation program. Or was it the Donald Trump Emulation program? No matter. I think if you talk to Murbot and others who can appreciate the gravity of all that is Aldo Nova, you will find yourself at peace with the "A word". Just listen to that old classic "Fantasy" from Aldo (pronounced "All Dough") himself and you will be soothed.

I find the simulated helicopter noises in the beginning to be most compelling. Genius-like song writing if I do say so. Ah the 80s... what musical bliss that time was.
