Is there any place that offers quality used equipment. I don't really need the NEWEST PB and would be happy w/a 1.5ghz SD. Apple.com I saw had some used stuff. ANy where else?

First three results from a Google search for "used macs." :p

Mac Of All Trades (http://www.macofalltrades.com/)
PowerMax (http://www.powermax.com/)
Low End Mac (http://www.lowendmac.com/dealers/index.shtml)

I've read about all three of these before and actually recommended Mac Of All Trades in the past as well.

Mac Of All Trades doesn't have any 15" aluminum PowerBooks, though they have a couple good deals on 17" ones. PowerMax has no Apple certified reconditioned PowerBooks, only pre-owned ones, and they rape you with those on price. A little comparison:

New from Apple
1.67 GHz G4
15" LCD
512 MB RAM
80 GB, 5400 RPM hard drive
8x SuperDrive
Radeon 9700 Mobility
1 year warranty
$2299

vs.

Pre-owned from PowerMax
1.25 GHz G4
15" LCD
512 MB RAM
80 GB, 4200 RPM hard drive
Slower SuperDrive (not sure how fast but it's not 8x)
Radeon 9600 Mobility
Warranty until 3/14/05
$2288

See what I mean? TOTAL RAPE. What assholes. Even if you find a seemingly good deal at PowerMax, I'd avoid it anyway merely on principle. I'd suggest checking out an online classified forum instead. Here are three links:

I've had great service from Smalldog (http://www.smalldog.com/) in the past.
