I'm looking for an LCD screen to replace my old, old Apple monitor. However, I really don't want to spend more than 200 dollars. By the looks of things that's almost impossible, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of one. Used would be fine with me, as long as the source is reputable (not ebay) and the screen is in decent condition. I saw some 15 inch Apple Studio displays going for $299. If anyone knows where I can get them for less than that, that would make me really happy.

Thanks.

You can get a really basic 15" LCD for around $180. NewEgg.com is a good place to look. This (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-024-001&depa=1) is the cheapest one there - $179.99 including shipping. I'd really recommend trying to stretch the budget just a little and get a 17" one though. The cheapest 17" LCDs are just a little over $200, and they offer almost 70% more pixels than a 15" one (1280x1024 resolution vs. 1024x768).

Hell, I just checked and it looks like NewEgg's running a deal on a 17" LCD for $202 shipped, right here (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-024-501&depa=1). It's probably not the greatest LCD, but I have used a few super-cheap brands before and none of them have been especially bad. $202 shipped is an awesome deal.

Thanks a bunch! I had forgotten about Newegg. Although, I've decided to wait until summer to get one since I mainly want it for college, and hopefully prices will lower a little by then. Yes I am cheap :P.

I think that NewEgg still has some refurbished Acer AL1731 screens left for $225. I have one right now, and it works great, plus it matches my Powerbook in terms of style.
