iMac or Powermac

I'm a college student that works alot on Logic pro 7 , Photoshop, final cut pro hd, motion, and dvd studio pro 3.

At the time being I am using a 15" 1.5Ghz Powerbook w/ 1.5Gb and 128 Vram. But I would like something more powerfull for nexr semester.

What do you recommend a 20" iMac w/ 2GB ram or a dp 2.3Ghz w/ 2 gb ram and a 20" cinema display?

Or should I wait for the "Dual core powermacs"?
