so there really have been no signs of a new ibook and im getting impatient hehe

im a student so if i purchase the ibook off apple's website i get the student discount. however, ive been looking around (ie. macmall) and the prices are slightly lower and they also sometimes have special deals. my question is whether or not i should order directly from apple or use one of the authorized retailers. if i use an authorized retailer, is the ibook stil going to come bundled with all the software mentioned on the apple site?

With the extra mail in rebate available for edu purchases (link available in this thread: http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=6373), it may be hard to top that offer.

As a sidenote, that offer excludes the lowest edu model iBook that has CD-ROM only.

im going to purchase the 12" ibook but it comes with the combo drive. does that mean the rebate will work fine for me? im confused because apple doesnt even make ibooks with only a CD-ROM drive any more.
