Heh.

Yeah, it uses webkit...and it's leaner, so it feels a bit snappier. It has some rendering issues though. I'm posting from it right now...

"Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/125.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) RealPlayer"

Is this a preview you're using or is the product available and just not listed on MacUpdate yet?

Well, you could try real.com - it's on their front page ;)

It's probably the preview which, might I say, is a huge improvement over 9. It almost makes you like Real…

Quite apart from all the new technology, I'm just appreciating the little things, like the ability to have multiple windows open at any one time, and closing the last window not quiting the application. Thank god for that.

And the Rage site finally works properly, with links and everything!

Can you get the player without signing up for the stupid premium content demo thing? [FOUND ONE... small link (https://order.real.com/pt/order.html?ppath=cpmacpl060204a&country=US&language=EN&src=blackjack,062904realhome_1_2_2_1_9_3) in top right corner of page...of course]

Can you get the player without signing up for the stupid premium content demo thing? I just wish they'd offer a simple download link instead of all this registration BS. Last thing I want is spam from partners and lovers of Real Networks.

Someone posted a direct download link at dot com in this (http://forums.appleinsider.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43620) thread.

Enjoy!

Definitely looks more robust a player after examining the preferences, video controls, etc. Looks nicer too. No more X Files green on the controls. Now to find some real content. TSN is using WM, being the hose-bags that they are, so I have to go searching.

NASA TV now has some of its streams in Real 10

Try the JPL high-speed (350Kbps) stream here (rtsp://137.78.25.101:554/encoder/live.rm?mode=compact&cloakport=8080,554,7070)

ISS EVA prep is on now, will switch to Cassini pre-Orbit Insertion briefing in 25 minutes.

And is it just me, or do the popup overlay controls remind anybody of prior QT players?

Whatever you do, just don't put a #3 sticker on the back windshield of your car....

Nah, it would be 88 (http://racing.ups.com/) or 20 (http://msn.foxsports.com/public/NASCAR/TonyStewart/Home).

No Earnhardt fan, me.

Ironically, it also plays the WWDC 04 stream better than QT player. It actually allowed me to watch the stream all the way through, pausing, and rewinding frequently. QT player would give up after a few minutes of playing especially if you touched the controls.
