Hai all,

What is the best option to be able to run maya on powerbook. Actually i'm thinking of buying powerbook 12" superdrive(because of its size, portability and its just so cute.. :) )

I am not planning to use the powerbook as my main 3d modelling machine, but it would be nice if I could also work on my powerbook.

My main question is PowerBook 12" suitable for running Maya or I have to look for the 15" model instead (with 128 MB GPU)?

Buying the 12" model is also because of the 12" is much cheaper, and maybe after 3 years I will buy the new powerbook line with intel chip( :( ).

I usually work with my dell inspiron 8600 with pentium-m 1.7 and 128 MB GeForce FX Go 5650. This suits me wel with Maya 6. I will be using this dell to replace my current 4 years old desktop.

Any advice will help....

cheers.

I don't know how heavy a modeling job it can handel, but I run the learning edition fine on my 1.33 Ghz 12" Powerbook. Of course I can't do textures or anything in my version. I wouldn't suggest it for rendering too much, I'm not sure, but you can certainly model fine on it (from what I've found so far).
