Sorry for the obvious and probably repetitive post, but of two 1Gb RAM chips, which should I go for. The options are Kingston or Micron - any preferences...?

Both are reputable brands. Get whatever has less latency or is cheaper. If you need a tiebreaker, read the reviews for each product on Newegg or Epinions.
