Hi all..

Ok.. I have been struggling on with halo and X2 and other games for which I really should buy a joystick..

Does anyone have a recommendation of a good joystick for the Mac?

Do all USB PeeCee joysticks work, or do you need to get one with the required drivers? I am guessing any will work, but as with mice you may lose some of the extra button features without a specific driver... Is that correct?

Any help from psycho gamers would be appreciated as I feel myself drifting into a period of unashamed space combat and trading with X2.... :D

You don't have one?

Funny, I thought joysticks were a standard issue amongst males....

Google is your friend http://www.google.com/search?q=macintosh+joystick&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1 I can't help with recommendations but sounds like MacAddict has done some reviews of joysticks. May want to check them out.

On a tangent, www.x-arcade.com has a joystick console mimicking real arcade, so you can relive mr. Pacman on a mac. Guess mac is made for gaming after all. :smokey:

I'm not sure how well a joystick would work playing Halo. You might want to think about a gamepad instead. I'm pretty sure Logitech has something.

Oh, and you'll need to get USB Overdrive (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/drivers/usboverdrive.html). It's very handy at managing your gaming peripherals.

Hi sunrain,
