Can anyone tell me what was the date of the last upgrade to the 12" PB line? Or, how I could go about finding out when the last upgrade was? In particular I need to know when they upgraded the Ram from the 2700 mhz to the 3300 mhz.

Thanks!

Well, a couple things... first of all, the RAM that the current PowerBooks use runs at 167 MHz DDR - equivalent to single data rate RAM at 333 MHz. DDR333 is PC2700, where 2700 stands for the number of megabytes per second of theoretical memory bandwidth. The first two 12" PowerBook revisions ran at 867 MHz and 1.0 GHz, and used a 133 MHz frontside bus with DDR266 RAM (PC2100, 2.1 GB/s of memory bandwidth). The 1.33 and 1.5 GHz 12" PowerBooks use DDR333 RAM, which is the PC2700 I referred to. No PowerBooks have used DDR400 (i.e. PC3200) RAM yet. They are compatible with it but it cannot exceed PC2700 speeds, and will downclock accordingly.
