I've had my PC (3.0ghz, ATI Radeon 9600, 1gb RAM) for a little over a year now, and I'm kicking myself for leaving Mac. I've been eyeing the updated Mac Mini's and was wondering if I should basically sell my PC for Mac Mini or wait for some newer version of Mac Mini to come out. I plan on getting a Powerbook next sumemr when the Intel class chips are released. But in the meantime, I need to find a replacement for my PC machine! Any advice on whether to wait it out or sell PC for Mac Mini?

I would do it. I would sell any pc for a mac, no matter which one (as long as it is not a really old one). As for the powerbook, I would wait a bit longer, just si that they can work out the kinks.

In your position with a PC at the moment, I would buy the Mini now and then get a PowerBook at some point in the future when the second release Intel PowerBooks come out.

Perhaps you should tell us what you're using the PC for? And, how much do you have invested in PC software?

Generally yes, I'd say. But if you need a lot of power for some reason, or if you need a specialist bit of software that'll cost you a ton to replace, then maybe not.

What I use my PC for, I can do the same with a mac. I internet browse, chat, listen to music, email, occasional gaming here and there. So basically, I can do the same things on a PC as a Mac, but I want to on a more secure, reliable, and state of the art OS.

You might be kind of disappointed with gaming performance on the Mac, but everything else should be a lot better and it'll be worth it. You can still game on Macs but the performance is pretty poor even on the more expensive Macs.

Just a word of warning. Like I said, everything else is a whole lot better so you should be very happy with it.

Gaming is not bad on Macs. Its well, OK. I mean I have gotten addicted to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and if anyone is a fan of MMMORPG's then they will have WoW. Another good game (that I am yet to buy) is ut2004.
