I know the doorbells trigger a HomeKit notification so we get the chime in our HomePods but also our iDevices and Watches. So you should get a notification there even without a HomePod, but I don't know for sure on that one.

As for if it can ring a "conventional" bell, I would say yes from this image:


That is the same basic wiring for the Unifi Protect doorbells I use. I will say, be ready to upgrade your transformer for the doorbell though. The standard transformer in a home for a traditional bell is not capable of powering the device and the bell properly.
