Final Fantasy XIII-2 has release dates! December 15 for Japan (two days before the Vita!), January 31 for North America, and February 3 for Europe. At about six weeks this is one of the fastest translation turnarounds of an FF game, and it's not for lack of content: Square Enix has really gone all out on FFXIII-2. They've taken the uneven reception of FFXIII to heart and are promising a less linear experience with many new gameplay elements. Like time travel!
Also, we got a surprising update for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The game will feature not only FF and Disney characters, but also characters from Nomura's other game, the DS cult classic The World Ends With You. Fans have been hoping for a TWEWY follow-up since, well, TWEWY, so bringing back the characters for KH3D is quite a tease. I'm intrigued by the potential for more non-FF Squeenix characters to appear in Kingdom Hearts. You can probably guess who I'm rooting for...
