I hear ya on the headphone jack. If/when I get a new phone, I’ll probably upgrade to a Shure MV88+, which has a headphone jack in the mic for exactly this reason. I still think it’s sad that you need an adapter to do something as simple as get an analog voltage out of a device. But that’s what I get for being an old (well, old in spirit) nerd
I have to disagree about the camera bump, though. A camera with optics of the caliber most phones have these days is totally unnecessary, at least for me. The camera on my SE is just fine. Heck, the camera on my 5 was pretty darn good for casual, everyday photos. It’s just a spec war, to the detriment of industrial design.
And a phone with a smaller screen doesn’t need a notch because it can still be a perfectly acceptable size even with the front-facing sensors
above the screen.
But it’s cool, I’ll just be over here being a curmudgeon
