And use the "Copy public link" options. You can't use dl-web.dropbox.com/get/public/file.extension. It should be more like dl.dropbox.com/u/74725/file.extension.
Note that the 74725 part is unique to your account and won't change. If you can remember it, you can easily link things without the need to use the "Copy public link" option.
