I experienced this on my work PC. Firefox/QuickTime went goony. Nothing would work to get it back to normal. It's still that way because the giant brains in our IT department said that re-installing Windows might fix the problem. I'm not, nor should I have to, re-install Windows because a plug-in got borked.

So what I'm saying is, I can't help you. I guess just try deleting everything associated with Firefox and QuickTime and then try re-installing them.
