Seriously, that's not cruel. That's just tricky.
I remember when that first happened to me (I couldn't have been more than 5 or so). I was at the beach in South Carolina and this little girl was staying at the place next to ours... and our families sort of hung out on the beach every day. We built sand castles together and chased each other around with empty crab shells and all that. And so one day we get that bright idea that all little kids eventually get, and run back to one of our beach houses to bear all. She showed me too, not like Carol and that poor deprived kid down the street.
