It's real and it's spectacular.

The Kindle DX far surpasses my expectations. The main thing I was worried about was that scientific papers would not be readable. Well, aside from not having color, they are eminently readible, especially if you turn the Kindle on its side. Equations seem fine, as do greek letters. It's like reading paper, just as advertised. Actually, I didn't know this beforehand, but the motion sensor will even rotate 180 degrees in case you're holding the Kindle upside down. Pretty neat. See if you can spot the picture below. I'm going to have fun with this.
