With previous Kindles, Amazon has given them each minor ($40 and $60) price drops after five or six months on the market. So it's possible we could see a DX price drop to ~$450 in November or December, but I think that's unlikely; dropping prices just before the holiday season makes little sense, since Kindles have a knack at selling out over the holidays unaided.
But you never know.
