I've been starting to use
DEVONthink again. It's a pretty nifty app. Anyway, it uses a lot of the frameworks provided by the system for its core functions, including its text stuff. I had made several documents with lists and one day a bunch of my text disappeared! I was ticked, but it turns out it's a 10.4 bug.
TextEdit lists may appear to lose content
Quote:
mportant: If your TextEdit document list is missing or has been truncated, please note that the content isn't actually gone; it's just not visible to you. However, if you save the document again, the invisible information will indeed be lost.
For example, if you create the following list in a TextEdit document...
- first
- second
- third
... then save the document and open it again, you might only see this:

The note talks about TextEdit but it seems it affects all apps that use the text functions of the OS. I don't know what triggers the loss of text but it's something I thought people should be aware of. Come on 10.4.1!
