I have to say, I've NEVER been trained on a Designer application but I'm functioning fairly well in Affinity Designer. I'm building that logo/avatar thing I wanted and it just moves where I need and want things to. Pretty straight forward when you hover over the tools what they do. Certainly worth it to download the trial and see if it will do what you want.
