One of my kids and team members will present the history of the Telephone for their science fair class next week. We (other parents and I) have already helped them with the invention timeline since 1876 'til present and even found some cool old phones they will use during their presentation. Now, I was thinking it would be fun if they could have a couple of regular phone sets at their stand to simulate phone calls between them. If I recall correctly, the ringers need 48v to operate and dialing would actually require being connected to a POTS line; but that's beyond my quest...

So, could it be possible to wire 2 phone sets in parallel with whatever little current required to operate so un-hooking them would allow for conversations? Thanks in advance for your ideas.
