You can use Remote Desktop to connect. The Mac client can be downloaded from the Microsoft website

Alternatively, you can use VNC. There has been plenty of discussion on VNC on here before. I tend to use either TightVNC or RealVNC as the server (on the XP box) and Chicken of the VNC as a client on the Mac
