I finally buckled and upgraded our TV from a true family member: a 1995 20" Toshiba.
I picked up a cheapo HDMI cable with the new TV, which serves as the main connection with the cable box, and went back to get another today to hookup the DVD player. Surprisingly (for me), I was faced with a choice of about 7 cables, ranging from 15 bucks to over 200.
My question: what should I be looking for to get a good quality cable but not something I don't need? Are they all the same? I imagine not, but don't know what it is that really makes each special (and neither does anyone at the store really).
While I'll never spend 200, I would plunk down 30, 40, 50 if it would make a difference over the course of a number of years.
Any purchasing advice welcome.
