The idea for long-term use is to grind 10-15 lbs of wheat berries at a time. Wheat berries will store in a cool, dry, sealed container for 10+ years, while ground whole wheat is good for 6-12 months—typically—which can vary with region/environment.
If memory serves, we ground wheat 2-4 times per year. I do not recall exactly.
