Indeed, if no one gets eviscerated and nailed upside down into a cross by demons, it's not Doom.
And yeah, I recall seeing that or something very much like that in one or two spots in Doom2. I think Doom3 did away with a lot of the (over the top) occult/demonic imagery already, and I can understand that the creatures don't need to fiddle with that stuff since they are already demons.. but if you take away the fact they're
demons who have a PO box in
hell, you might as well let Disney produce the movie. It won't get any worse for that.
