I mentioned it earlier upthread, I believe.
We now engage with the world through our mobile devices, and auto platforms that do not continuously support our engagement are going to lose value more quickly than those that figure out how to keep up with evolving hardware requirements. The easiest solution (there are no easy solutions) would be a way to yank the head unit of the car's brain and replace it with a newer model. Determine the dividing line between software, sensors, and hardware.
