I've been doing more looking and it looks like
Insteon is the latest and greatest I've found as a system. It's by Smarthome/SmartLabs and uses Rf and powerline to communicate. It also uses a mesh tech so missed commands happen far less.
So does anyone have anything like this? Will I be the AN pioneer for home automation? Reading the
wiki comes of like an advertisement, but seems informative enough. It's also inline with this article from
Popular Mechanics that was written earlier this year. At least it recent compared to most I find.
Electronic House even did an
article recently that talked about two other standards out there. At the end of the article though they recommend Insteon for existing homes.
