To put a bit of a chill on things, what is under discussion is apparently a pretty limited machine: for your USD500 you get a 1.25Ghz G4, a Combo drive, and seriously limited expandability. They didn't say anything about PCI slots or video upgradeability, but somehow I doubt it. As described, it sounds like an iBook motherboard, with a desktop optical and hard drive, and no monitor. They may even make money on it!
Frankly, if it's as cheap as billed, I don't think it will have problems snagging the "cheap-arse" crowd.
