I was reminded of a long ago discussion in school about the nature of light in certain parts of the world.... unique atmospheric conditions that rendered light in a way unlike other places. I believe that the Mediterranean was one of the first recognized areas where this special condition existed (recognized by painters), but if you've been to the Pacific coast you'll know that there's a unique nature to light there as well.... the wine country is practically bathed in golden light.
Have any of you studied this phenomenon?
I figure that everything affects these special light conditions.
Everything, including: topgraphy, moisture, salinity of the water, chemical components of the water, weather patterns, vegetation.
.. the list could go on.
I've been trying to find some links to discussions about this without success.... my Google-Fu is lacking tonight.
