You have a point, Zach. Maybe that's why the invitation was relatively "blah."
Apple actually does seem to have a problem with making people expect more than they deliver, at times. Remember the WWDC '04 ads? They showed a Power Mac G5, with the text "A supercomputer for your desk. Next?" The obvious answer, of course, would be a supercomputer for your lap. But no, Apple's answer was "A matching monitor for your desk! Made ya look!"
