Nobody's worked on my iBook except Apple, so that might be why they don't have any concerns about what's been done to it -- anything wrong is entirely Apple's fault and can't be pinned on someone else, even if another repairman is like a repair god.

Maybe Apple can be persuaded, since this is a problem regardless of who worked on it. The odds of that happening are worse in your case than in mine, though.
