The only real "strategy"/approach I take is two vowels in each two initial words, all four being different (BACON, FETID or GROUT, TAKEN, etc., as those will pretty much give me a close count on vowels (and possible placement, if I'm lucky). And maybe one of the six consonants will land in a way that makes it easy to figure out from the unused letters. As a longtime Jumble/Boggle player, I'm pretty good at seeing partial words or random assortment of letters and making something from them. But those first two moves set the tone. If I'm still in a complete fog by the third guess, I know I'm probably looking at a 5/6 or 6/6 (or bust out) session. It either seems to happen quick, or not.
