Apple sees it as a niche tool for a small number of professionals and a plaything for Apple fanatics. Since iOS and OS X haven't completely converged, even light users who could live with an iPad 90% of the time will sorely miss their MacBook [Air|Pro] during the remaining 10%. I find it impractical as a daily driver tablet because of its weight combined with its footprint...it yearns to be laid down or propped up. With a keyboard cover added, the device is still poor at laptop mimicry.
