I am picking up the base 13" MBP from the Apple Store today to replace my Early 2015 13" MBP.
I was debating between picking up now vs waiting for the rumored 14" MBP or the M2 since it is a Gen 1 Apple product. I figured the 14" MBP would be replacing the 4 port 13" Intel MBP thus higher priced. While yes it is a Gen 1 Apple product, unlike past Gen 1 Apple products, these are very capable machines compared to Apple Watch Series 0, the first iPhone, and the first iPad. While I am sure I will be replacing this machine faster than I did with my 2015 due to only getting 8 GB of RAM, I am ok with that. I do view this machine as a short(er) term machine. Plus it is a swap in my replacement pipeline. I was waiting for A14X powered iPad Pro to replace my 2017 10.5" iPad Pro. With my usage pattern now shifting back to laptop vs tablet, and the $310 trade in value of my 2015 MBP, the cost is coming out to be the same and I feel no need to replace the iPad at this point now.
