You see, drew...I do not hate Star Wars.
I only want to see it done well, and to be genuinely fun and enjoyable. I’m sorry, but those movies were not.
But this stuff is. I love feeling enthusiastic and optimistic once more about something that has been such a huge part of my life for 43 (of 51) years.
But I’m not legally/morally obligated to like everything, just because it’s Star Wars. So I can point out/dislike the bad, but I love to support and praise the good. And now I get to do the latter.
Nothing broke my heart more than to spend 4-5 years thinking “I guess this just isn’t meant for me anymore; I can’t get behind such disjointed, incoherent storytelling and heavy-handed point-missing. What happened?!”
My natural state is to be a fan/dork about all this stuff, and that’s where I prefer to be.
