T3 swears that they have word from a trustworthy insider that Apple is about to pop out new 2Gb and 4GB versions of the iPod shuffle. Oh, and they’re pretty sure that Apple is getting ready to bump the iPod mini up to 8GB, too (which makes sense, since Hitachi does have an 8GB Microdrive). They don’t say how soon the new iPods will be announced, or whether the new shuffles and new minis will all get announced at the same time.
